We were so lucky to have the opportunity to execute this absolutely beautiful bright spring wedding theme. Looking at this table, there are so many visible colors – various colors of pinks, blues, yellows, greens, and gold. Tying together so perfectly and bringing to life such a beautiful layout.
First and foremost, putting together a mood board of what the ideas and inspiration are can be very beneficial in ensuring that it eventually comes to life how it was being imagined.
Before doing this styled shoot, we sat down and decided what colors we were wanting and what vibe we were going for. We found pictures of it and put it all together, creating a mood board to go off of. Aside from the mood board, we also did a table mock up of how things should be laid out so we could just go and execute it seamlessly.
There are many cases where it is preferred to have a simple and less elaborate table but adding something as simple as a cylinder vase can add so much dimension to a table.
For this table layout, we used a variety of different things to help bring more dimension to the table. Throughout the table, there were cylinder vases with gold candle stick holders. While the one size and color would’ve added plenty of dimension itself, adding various sizes of cylinder vases and candle stick holders with different colored candlesticks added just a little more.
Traditionally, people have a cake cutting but how fun is it to just switch it up. Instead of cake, find something that is more you and your partner. For this shoot, we did macaroons. The macaroons added a different element as well as more color.
Allow your guest to have something to munch on during cocktail hour, in between the ceremony and reception. Provide a light snack that your guests aren’t too full for dinner. The snack you see pictured is a charcuterie cup. This cup has fruit, meat, cheese, pretzels, and crackers. Enough to hold them over, but not too much that they won’t eat dinner. To add a bit more of a personalization, DIY a cute sticker to put on each cup. Ours read ‘Love At First Bite. – Marcus & Jessica’. Simple yet personable.
Signature drink signs have become more popular the past few years. A signature drink sign gives guest a drink suggestion while displaying what the bride and groom’s favorite drinks are. Not a drinker? No worries, you could also do a favorite candy, snack, etc.
Throw out the traditional guestbook with signatures and make it something fun. For this shoot, we loved the idea of the phone guestbook. Each of your guest can pick up the phone, wait for the tone and leave you a message. After the end of the day, you will receive a digital copy of all the recordings. This idea is very personable and sentimental – something you can cherish forever.
We’ve said it once and we will say it again, people love a fun place to take pictures. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, but providing a place for guests to take pictures to remember your big day will definitely be a hit. We took advantage of the sleek black background of the building and added some purple wisteria and the ‘Celebrate’ neon sign.
